Job Offer - Delivery Driver (Food Security)


Located in the northeast of New Brunswick, the Chaleur region is home to approximately 36,000 residents, distributed across 2 municipalities and 1 rural district as of January 1, 2023. The region stretches along the beautiful Bay of Chaleur, which is part of the prestigious Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World. Here, nature is an integral part of the residents' lives. The Chaleur region is a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts throughout all four seasons! A variety of activities can be enjoyed in our region, including beaches, golf courses, boat rides, hunting and fishing, ATV or bike trails, hiking trails such as the historic Nepisiguit Mi'gmaq Trail that connects Bathurst to Mount Carleton, the highest peak in the Maritime provinces, and much more. In winter, the Chaleur region is blanketed in white for the delight of snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking enthusiasts.


Under the supervision of the Director of Community Development, the role of the Delivery Driver (Community Safety) is to ensure the safe and timely delivery of food products to schools in northeastern New Brunswick. This person will also assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of the hub property and building. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to service excellence and quality.

Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company trucks to deliver food products to schools along assigned routes
  • Ensure deliveries are made on time while complying with traffic laws and company guidelines
  • Load and unload food products, handling them with care to maintain quality standards
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance or safety issues
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures or confirmations
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to ensure products are delivered in optimal conditions. (Training provided)
  • Provide excellent customer service to school staff by addressing any questions or concerns related to deliveries

Job Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean criminal record
  • Experience driving medium to large-sized vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene (training provided)
  • Physical ability to load and unload goods (must be able to lift 60 lbs)
  • Bilingualism (basic knowledge of French and English)
  • Professional and courteous demeanor

Working Conditions:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-time position at 30 hours per week for a one-year contract (possibility of extension).
  • Salary to be determined based on training and experience (between $18 and $20/hour).
  • Work location: Hub at 333 Route 160, Allardville, N.B.
